So I read an article today about a woman who was rudely awakened by the feeling of something wiggling between her legs. Ok, Ok, enough giggling - it's not what you think. When she looked down, a 3 foot long black snake had curled up on her lap for a good nights sleep. I can tell you that would freak me out! It is one thing to have a pet snake, but to find a strange one in bed with you is enough to make a strong man start freaking out.
It was reported that she threw the snake across the room, grabbed her child and ran outside. She got some help from the neighbors who went inside to remove the snake and killed it. I don't think there was any need to kill the snake, but most people are dead scared of them and I do understand their reaction.
There was no other description of the snake other than it was three foot long and black. My guess is she would have been happier if it was just a foot long and black...but I'm getting off topic.
Here's the real kicker. The next day she finds another one, this time crawling around her son's toy box! I hope he wasn't mistaking the little one for a frozen pinkie mice. What would that say about the looks of the kid. I've heard of stories of small kids being mistaken for snake food, but those stories usually take place in the Amazon and involve an Anaconda...
Once again the neighbors came to her rescue and captured and killed the snake. Still unnecessary but you do what you have to do I guess.
Anyway, the lady has so scared she won't return to her apartment. I don't know where she's staying now, but the apartment complex was nice enough to find her a new spot in a few weeks. Hope her snake friends don't have her forwarding address.
It kind of reminds me of the episode of the Exterminators on A&E. A couple calls the team to snake proof their house because they found and killed a large snake in their bedroom. While he was doing the walk through of the house he poked his head into the closet, only to find a second snake staring right back at him. Knocked him on his but.
What I like about this guy is that he relocates animals instead of killing them. He put the snake in a box and dropped him out in the swap or bayou, what ever it is that they call it down there in Louisiana.
I guess that proves snakes don't watch TV because if they had seen that episode, they would have realized making your home in someone's house is not a good idea, and can be hazardous to your health.
